Lisbon has too many places of interest to mention, but for art lovers a visit to the Museu Gulbenkian is recommended.

The Centro de Arte Moderna, reached through a garden of specially commissioned sculptures, has a fine collection of twentieth century Portuguese art. This includes works by Almada Negreiros, the founder of ‘Modernismo’.

Lisbon has an amazing assortment of restaurants to choose from, probably offering the best value of any European capital. There is one street entirely devoted to seafood cuisine.

Music has always played an important part of Lisbon life, and this is reflected in the many bars specializing in Fado, Portuguese Jazz, Brazilian and African music.

The Hotel Britania will appeal to the discerning guest who enjoys luxury, comfort and the intimate atmosphere of a small hotel.
