Hotels and Pousadas in Alto Minho Portugal

The Alto Minho region is also known as Costa Verde (The Green Coast). It gets its name because the vegetation remains green though out the year.

The area is mountainous with the Minho river and the Lima river .

It is undeveloped and has few hotels however it was a favourite place to build a manor house, many of which have tourist accommodation.

The main town is Viana do Castelo with Ponte de Lima and Ponte de Barca inland.

On the border river Minho is Caminha, Cerveira, Valenca and Moncao.
