The Douro river runs from the Spanish border in the East through spectacular scenery immerging into the sea at Porto (Oporto) on the west coast.

During its journey, the river passes through the demarcated port wine region of steeply terraced hills and mountains. The river has been tamed by a series of dams which have added to its great beauty.

This cruise takes us for Sunday lunch at Alpendurada Monastery which is on the banks of thr river.
