Lisbon (Lisbon) is the capital city of Portugal and most international flights use Lisbon airport.  It is on the estuary of the Tagus river and is a busy port.

It is not recommend for the tourist to use a car in the city centre,

Cascais or Sintra on the west coast have regular rail connections to the city and make interesting alternatives,
