The fishermen pull up their boats on the beach and can be seen unloading their catch for the local market or mending their nets. They will also take tourists along the coast to see the spectacular rock formations.

About one kilometre east of the village is Algar Seco where dramatic cliffs hang over narrow beaches.

The village is a good place for sports enthusiasts with golf courses, tennis centre, water sports, fishing and horse riding all available locally.

The hotel has 54 rooms which all have en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms have Satellite television, air conditioning, hairdryers, telephone, radio and  tea / coffee making facilities.

Many of the bedrooms enjoy spectacular views of the sea and coastline.

The Jardim do Sol restaurant serves authentic Portuguese cuisine including the famous local seafood and fish dishes and also the chicken 'piri-piri' which is an Algarve speciality.

Light snacks can be taken in the cool of the courtyard or on the terrace surrounding the pool,  There is also a lounge overlooking the village square and a terrace bar.

The swimming pool is heated for the benefit of winter visitors. A baby sitting service is available on request.

There are many golf courses within a short car drive.  The nearest is the 18 hole Salgados course and the courses at Vale de Gramancho and Vale de Pinta giving 27 holes at Carvoeiro Golf Club.
