Douro river cruise to Regua and Barca D'Alva, return from Pocinho by train

Regua is the most important town on the river Douro and capital of the port wine area. From here the river Regua to Barca D'Alva - River Douro Cruise

passes through the demarcated port wine region of steeply terraced hills dotted with the white painted Port wine quintas.

The boat passes Pinhao to which the Port Wine trade is slowly moving. Soon after Pinhao the schist soil ends marking the end of the demarcated Port Wine region and the scenery turns wilder.

The boat reaches the border village of Barca d'Alva where an hour is spent ashore before the brief journey downriver to Pocinho where there is a transfer to the train for the return journey.

There are slight changes in the itinerary between the cruise to Barca D'Alva and Pocinho which should be studied carefully. Both take place on Sundays and are the same price.

We went for a cruise from Regua to Porto and everithing works perfect, your representatives, they did a very good work, they were there wend you needed them, they were a very good professionels. I hope I will be back for the same or another cruise with yor company. Thank You.
