The Douro valley and Regua

Leaving Porto, the boat passes under some of the famous high level bridges. The urbanisation of Porto is quickly left behind and the steep banks have villages and riverside homes.

Porto Regua - Douro river Cruise

As the journey across Portugal takes place, the boat is raised by a series of locks, some being the highest in Europe.

Later the railway line runs alongside the river for its jouney upstream.

The river passes through the demarcated port wine region of steeply terraced hills and mountains and white painted quintas to Regua the important Port Wine town.

After a stop for lunch we arrive at Regua where we stay the night.

The following day we retun to Porto by the same route.

We went for a cruise from Regua to Porto and everithing works perfect, your representatives, they did a very good work, they were there wend you needed them, they were a very good professionels. I hope I will be back for the same or another cruise with yor company. Thank You.
